Omfg, traditional.
This is what happens with Sal uses Copics. XD
The first piece of my AP portfolio concentration.
My theme is the western Zodiac with birth defects.
Cancer: A word that holds double meaning. While the cancer zodiac is of the crab, the disease/defect involves tumors. Matching these two meanings I incorporated a reef-like tumor on the boy's body and the characteristic emaciation that comes from the disease. I used complimentary colors on a diagonal slope to draw the eye toward the middle of the image, the blue of the hair (meant to represent water) contrasting the orange of the claws (meant to represent the crab). The red in the skintone also contrasts the greens in the reef. The scales also aid at giving the boy an aquatic and sickly appearance.
Materials: Copics and copic liners on watercolor paper.
